Upto 2021 – 2022 Batch

Test-I and Test-II Portion :

  • Test – I : 50% of the portions (or) 5 units.
  • Test – II : Remaining 50% of the portions (or) remaining 5 units.
Section – A 10X1 = 10 Marks

Q.No. 1-5 : Multiple Choice Questions with four distractors (One question from each unit)

  1. No. 6-10 : Short answer (One question from each unit)
Section – B 5×4=20 marks

Q.No. 11-15 : Either (a) or (b) Pattern (Two Questions from each unit)

Section – C 4×10 = 40 Marks

Answer any four out of six questions. 16th question is compulsory. It is from any one of the five units. Q.No. 17-21 : one question from each unit.

From 2022 – 2023 Batch onwards

ASSESSMENT UNDER CONTINUOUS INTERNAL ASSESSMENT (2020-21 BATCH)

Every semester two centralized CIA tests for each paper are conducted. Each test carries the marks equivalent to that of the external maximum marks of a paper. From 2017-2020 batch onwards the portions for the first test (Test-I) will be 50% of the syllabus and for the second test (Test-II) it will be the remaining 50% of the syllabus.

The following marks allocation is made for the continuous Internal Assessment Programme.

  1. Test I = 70 Marks, 2. Test – II = 70 Marks, 3. Assignment = 20 Marks, 4. Seminar / Tutorial

= 20 Marks, 5. Knowledge Enhancement – 20 marks, 6. Information Acquisition = 10 marks.

Total = 210 Marks.

The total marks obtained are divided by 7 inorder to get marks obtained for 30. Marks so obtained are the CIA component of the candidate for each paper.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRACTICAL

CIA marks for the practical are awarded based on the performance of students in practical tests and observation note book & regularity.

CIA Practical Tests: For each practical, students should write one model practical test. The marks obtained in the test will be appropriately converted into marks allotted for the test component of CIA of the practical.

Observation notebook and regularity: The marks allotted for observation notebook & regularity are awarded based on the performance of students in writing procedure, results of the practical done during every practical class, regularity in attending practical class, which will be accounted based on the attendance maintained separately for practical class, and punctuality in the submission of observation notebook.

Submission of Record Note Books for Practical Examinations

Candidates appearing for practical examination should submit bonafide record note books prescribed for practical examinations. Otherwise, the candidates will not be permitted to appear for the practical examination.

END-OF-SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS (ESE)

A semester consists of a minimum of 90 days excluding the End-of-Semester Examination days. End-of-Semester Examinations for all courses will be held at the end of the semester.

Passing minimum in each subject / course under UG programme is 40% (aggregate of CIA and ESE)

Passing minimum in each subject / course under PG programme is 50%. (aggregate of CIA and ESE)

Passing minimum in each subject / course under Career Oriented Programmes, Certificate Courses and Diploma courses is 40%.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPEAR FOR EXAMINATIONS

Acandidate will be permitted to appear for the End-of-Semester Examination for any semester if

  • he / she secures not less than 75% of
  • he / she earns a progress certificate of having satisfactorily completed the course of study
